Limitation of Liability

Presto Movers' financial responsibility for loss or damage is defined in your service agreement.

Liability limitation
A clause that defines the maximum financial responsibility a moving company accepts for loss or damage.

Liability limitation is set out in the individual service agreement provided to each customer. Presto Movers is fully insured, bonded, and DOT-compliant.

Our total liability to any customer shall not exceed the value of services actually rendered under the applicable booking confirmation. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from delays, force majeure events, or circumstances outside our direct control.

Force majeure
A contract clause that excuses a service provider from fulfilling obligations due to events outside their control, such as natural disasters or road closures.

Force majeure applies in full. Los Angeles-area conditions including wildfires, freeway closures, and weather events may qualify as force majeure under these Terms.

Nothing in this section limits liability for damage caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct. For answers to common moving service questions about coverage, claims, and liability, please visit our FAQ page.

06

Indemnification

Customers agree to hold Presto Movers harmless for issues caused by inaccurate information or prohibited use.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Presto Movers, its employees, contractors, and officers from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your failure to meet customer obligations, your misuse of this website or our services, or your violation of these Terms. This includes reasonable attorneys' fees where applicable.

07

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Governing jurisdiction
The state whose laws apply when a dispute arises under a service contract. For all Presto Movers customers, that is California.

This service agreement and any dispute arising under it shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of California. The company's registered office is located at 3965 Heritage Oak Ct, Simi Valley, CA 93063. Any legal proceedings shall be conducted in the appropriate courts of Ventura County or Los Angeles County, California. Customers may also wish to review their California consumer protection rights as administered by the Office of the Attorney General.

08

Dispute Resolution

Most disputes are resolved directly - here is the process if one arises.

To raise a concern, contact us at info@prestomovers.net or 888-678-6151. We will make a good-faith effort to reach a resolution within 15 business days of written notice.

If direct resolution is not achieved, the parties agree to submit the dispute to non-binding mediation before pursuing litigation. Mediation shall take place in Ventura County or Los Angeles County, California, under a mutually agreed mediator. If mediation fails, either party may pursue available legal remedies under California law.

09

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms - we will note the date of any change at the top of this page.

Presto Movers reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms take effect immediately upon posting to prestomovers.net. FAQ

Questions About This Agreement

Something not covered? Call 888-678-6151 before your move date.

What exactly am I agreeing to when I book a move with Presto Movers?

You're agreeing to a service agreement - a binding document that defines what Presto Movers will do, what you're responsible for, and how disputes are handled if something goes wrong. The terms cover service scope, cancellation rules, liability limits, and governing law. Everything is written in plain language on this page so you can read it before committing - not after the truck arrives.

What happens if my belongings are damaged during the move?

Presto Movers is fully insured and bonded - financial protection exists if something is damaged. The specific liability limit is defined in your individual service agreement at booking. Nothing in the Terms removes accountability for damage caused by gross negligence. Review your service agreement before move day and call 888-678-6151 with any coverage questions.

Is there a cancellation window, or am I locked in once I book?

Cancellation policy terms are defined in your individual booking confirmation. Contact Presto Movers at 888-678-6151 or info@prestomovers.net before your move date to discuss rescheduling or cancellation options.

What does "force majeure" mean for my move if a wildfire or freeway closure happens?

Force majeure is a contract clause that excuses Presto Movers from fulfilling obligations when events outside our control - like wildfires, road closures, or natural disasters - make service impossible. Los Angeles-area conditions make this clause relevant. If a force majeure event affects your move, we contact you directly to reschedule. You are not charged for delays caused by conditions neither party controls.

Which state's laws govern this agreement, and does that matter for me?

California law governs all Presto Movers service agreements. Disputes are resolved in Ventura County or Los Angeles County courts. That means any legal proceeding happens in the same state where your move originated - not a distant jurisdiction chosen to disadvantage you. Presto Movers has operated under California law from its registered address in Simi Valley since 2007.

What are my responsibilities as a customer before the move starts?

Customer obligations include disclosing special items - pianos, antiques, hazardous materials - before move day, providing accurate addresses, and ensuring crew access to both properties at the scheduled time. Failing to meet these obligations can cause delays or additional charges. The Terms are clear on this so neither side faces surprises on move morning.

Read it before committing, not after the truck arrives.
