Presto Logistics provides professional industrial racking and shelving installation services for warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing plants across California and the United States. Based in Simi Valley, CA, we specialize in the seismic-compliant assembly of pallet racks, cantilever systems, and mezzanines. Unlike general movers, our team of 105 vetted installers operates as skilled millwrights, handling the entire lifecycle of your storage infrastructure, from the initial High-Pile Storage permitting process and seismic engineering to the final concrete anchoring and safety inspection. Whether you are maximizing vertical space in a new facility or reconfiguring an existing distribution center, we ensure your racking meets all OSHA and local building codes.

Seismic Anchoring & Compliance:
Building for the "Big One"

Concrete Core Drilling & Epoxy Bolting Protocols

Records. For our healthcare clients in the Simi Valley/Thousand Oaks biotech corridor, compliance is mandatory. Unlike standard movers, we are prepared to sign Business Associate Agreements (BAA), formally accepting liability for the physical security of the Protected Health Information (PHI) we transport.

This legal assurance allows Hospital Administrators and Compliance Officers to approve the move with confidence, knowing regulatory standards are met.

Navigating “High-Pile Storage” Permits in California

Installing racking over 12 feet high triggers “High-Pile Storage” regulations. This requires a complex permitting process involving fire flow calculations and commodity classification.

Presto Logistics assists facility managers in navigating the permitting maze. We work with fire protection engineers to prepare the necessary drawings and calculations, ensuring your new racking system passes the Fire Marshal’s inspection on the first visit.

Specialized Racking Systems: Which is Right for You?

Not all storage is created equal. We install a variety of systems tailored to your specific inventory profile.

Selective Pallet Racking vs. Cantilever Systems

Drive-In and Push-Back Racking for High-Density Storage

For clients utilizing LIFO (Last-In, First-Out) inventory management, we install Drive-In Racking. These high-density systems allow forklifts to drive directly into the lane to deposit pallets, eliminating aisles and doubling your storage capacity. We also install Push-Back Racking, utilizing gravity-fed carts on inclined rails for dynamic storage that reduces forklift travel time.

Mezzanine & Catwalk System Assembly

Structural Steel Erection & Safety Railing

When you run out of floor space, the only way is up. We assemble free-standing Industrial Mezzanines that create a second level of usable workspace.

Our crews are trained in structural steel erection, bolting together heavy I-beams, and bar-grating flooring. We ensure full compliance with OSHA fall protection standards by installing kick-plates, safety gates, and industrial staircases with proper handrails.

Increasing Warehouse Square Footage Without Moving.

Installing a mezzanine is often a fraction of the cost of relocating to a larger building. By doubling your usable square footage within your existing footprint, Presto Logistics helps you scale your operation without the disruption of a full facility move.

We handle the heavy lifting of steel components using scissor lifts and telehandlers, ensuring a safe and efficient build.

Racking Maintenance & Safety Inspections

Identifying “Out-of-Plumb” Uprights & Beam Deflection

Racking takes abuse. Forklift impacts can bend uprights, and overloading can cause beams to sag. We offer Racking Safety Audits where our technicians inspect your system for “out-of-plumb” columns (leaning) and permanent beam deflection.

We identify damaged components that compromise the system’s structural integrity and recommend immediate repairs or replacements..

Column Guard Installation & Impact Protection

Prevention is cheaper than repair. We install Post Protectors and end-of-aisle guardrails to shield your racking from forklift collisions.

These steel barriers are anchored into the concrete independently of the rack, absorbing impact energy and protecting your expensive uprights from twisting or collapsing.

The Installation Lifecycle: Teardown, Transport, Re-Install

Laser Leveling & Shimming on Uneven Floors:

Warehouse floors are rarely perfectly flat. Installing a 20-foot rack on an uneven floor creates stress points that are hazardous. Our installers use laser levels to identify low spots and install steel Shims under the footplates.

This ensures the racking stands perfectly vertical (plumb), distributing the weight load evenly across the anchors and preventing “rack twist.”

Systematic Teardown for Relocation Projects

When moving a warehouse, the racking is the last thing to leave and the first thing to arrive. We perform a Systematic Teardown, bundling beams by size and labeling uprights by height.

We band the components securely for transport to prevent transit damage. Upon arrival, we reverse the process to ensure your storage system is ready to receive inventory as quickly as possible.

Serving the Simi Valley Industrial Corridor & Nationwide

From our HQ at 3965 Heritage Oak Ct, we serve the dense industrial parks of the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita, and Ventura County. We understand the specific seismic codes of these municipalities.

However, our reach is national; we deploy our installation teams to set up distribution centers for clients expanding into Nevada, Texas, and Arizona, providing a consistent quality standard across all your locations..

Automated Storage (AS/RS) & Vertical Carousel Moving

Relocating Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs)

Modern warehouses increasingly rely on automation, such as Kardex Remstar, Hanel, or Modula vertical lift modules. These machines are sensitive and top-heavy. We utilize manufacturer-approved bracing kits to secure the internal extractor/elevator, ensuring it doesn't shift during transport. Our teams are trained to lower these tall units using hydraulic gantries or tilt-back trailers, allowing them to pass through standard dock doors without total disassembly.

Conveyor System & Sortation Line Transfer

For distribution centers with integrated sortation, we treat the conveyor system as a critical asset. We mathematically map the Sortation Logic before disassembly. We disconnect, crate, and transport powered roller conveyors, belt conveyors, and spiral chutes. At the destination, we handle the mechanical reinstallation and laser alignment, working alongside your controls engineer to ensure the sensors and diverters fire correctly on Day 1.

Frequently Asked Questions About File Relocation

How do you track inventory during the move?

We use a pallet-tagging system that integrates with digital manifests. Every pallet is scanned at the origin dock and again at the destination dock. We provide a variance report to reconcile any discrepancies immediately.

Yes. We have specialized teams for Industrial Racking Installation. We handle the teardown, bundling, transport, and code-compliant re-installation, including seismic anchoring.

Yes. We offer Cargo Valuation coverage. For high-value loads (electronics, pharma), we can increase limits and provide specific riders. We strongly recommend “Full Value Protection” for complete peace of mind.

We use a “Phased Relocation” strategy. We move fast-moving SKUs (A-Movers) last and slow-moving SKUs (C-Movers) first. This keeps your most popular products shippable for the longest possible time.

We have Hazmat-certified drivers and protocols for moving chemical inventory. We ensure incompatible materials are segregated during transport in compliance with DOT regulations.
